PUBLIC ENEMY

Posted on 3/18/09 by SheSaid

After There Will Be Blood, I've had this attraction for clothing from the 1920's.... Its constant sophistication at all times of the day.  I even think Comme De Garcon came out with clothes that was inspired by the Film.  Well we're sure to get more of that from Michael Mann's upcoming film PUBLIC ENEMY starring Johnny Depp & Christian Bale.

Loving Foam Magazine

This week we stopped by to visit Kristina Dechter Editor-In-Chief of Foam Magazine. Kristina is a mixture of sharp, fly, cracking and charming all at once. I stumbled upon the most beautiful and awe-inspiring wall of creativity for the up and coming issue. She also gave me a bit of insight. All I have to say is, " I can't wait to have the next issue in hand with a cup of tea". I don't want to spoil it but the next issue get ready to fly to Australia with Kristina and crew.

Not Eric Stoltz

When I was doing the wikipedia/google thing on Kelley Stoltz, for some reason I kept on typing Eric Stotltz, so now when I hear a Kelley Stoltz song I can't get the image of Mr. Honey Bunny in Pulp Fiction with a hawaiian shirt singing... I don't know?

His wikipeda page claims he sounds like Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, and even Velvet Underground which I bet Kelley Stoltz filled out himself.  He does sound like a Brian Wilson side project.  Listen to the amazing similarity.

Snobbery and Entitlement

Posted on 3/16/09 by SheSaid

I ran into this story over the weekend and casually saw the Yahoo caption that read, "Miley Cyrus snubbed by Radiohead at the Grammies."  With a box of Girl Scout Samoa cookies to my side, I read the story and had a smile on my face that went from ear to ear!  I mean I was a Radiohead fan before but now... Thom Yorke can walk by me and throw a few explicative words my way and I'll still thank him...  Why you ask?

Well apparently during the Grammies', Miley Cyrus requested a "meet and greet" with Radiohead because they are the inspiration to her music career...  I personally have never in my life ever heard a Miley Cyrus song.  But for some miraculous  reason if I managed to be on the wrong flight and Al-Qaeda  took me hostage and decided to torture me by playing her album, I doubt Thom Yorke and Radiohead will come to mind as a reference. So When Miley's manager knocked on Radiohead's greenroom door and asked if they would like to meet Miley Cyrus they, replied with, "Sorry, We don't do that kind of thing."
So Miley decided to go on radio and say,"I will ruin Radiohead.".....

A spokesperson for the band responded on their behalf, “When Miley grows up, she’ll learn not to have a sense of entitlement.”

This all reminds me of that  2Pac song Hit Em' up...  Miley Cyrus is Biggie and Radiohead's spokesperson is like one of 2Pac's little homies ridin' on you.

If your reading this Miley, I would like to dedicate the last 30 seconds of Hit Em' Up to you.

Shaved Heads and Devendra Banhart

Posted on 3/13/09 by SheSaid

I started to write this post thinking about how if Natalie Portman ever went crazy and got all Britney Spears on us and shaved her head, us common folk girls would have a fighters chance at her lovely beau Devendra Banhart.  But than I remembered she shaved her head in the film V for Vendetta and she still looked sexy. Haha, can't a girl get a break? Heres a video of Devendra Banhart playing live on BBC's Jools Holland show... Hope you enjoy!
